Ball Winder

In the late winter I got myself a knitting present! While I still prefer the look of a hand wound ball of yarn, this sure gets the job done quickly and with less stress on my hands.

Alaska Hat

I fell in love with this hat pattern the second I saw it!  It knit up fairly quickly and fits my head perfectly, although it is not a snug hat.  Depending on how it wears over the next couple months I might consider adding a fleece liner to make it beautiful and windproof.

The dark purple is a lovely accent, but it does obscure the tree line a bit.  If I were to knit it up again, I would start just after or at the end of the dark color.

Socks

Purple socks for my Birkenstock loving 12 yo.  She asked for a pair of hand knit socks for the holidays but time got away from me and these needed to wait until January.  They were off the needles quickly though, and that color!  I hope it stays this vibrant.

The twins' feet are the same size as mine, so I knit these a bit large (~1/4-inch) in hopes that she can have them for many more winters to come.

In Wisconsin we know how to keep our toes warm!
