Week 11: Green batik. I went with some of my left over batiks for this second-to-last square. Since I decided to go with the backing fabric on the 12th square, I needed something more modern to balance it out. I like this square, but the contrast between the green and white is a bit striking to my eye.I sure have been learning a lot about quilting through this adventure. Lots about which fabrics look good together (mostly by pairing many fabrics that don't!), and how to piece things to make nice blocks. My skills are improving as the weeks go by and I am feeling more confident about tackling a larger quilting project.
