My First Giveaway - Start the New Year out on the right foot!!

I didn't do a giveaway on my 100th post, and it's too early for a blogiversary giveaway. But, a great opportunity has presented itself and I couldn't resist. It's the new year - why not start out on the right foot?! (sorry, bad pun but I couldn't resist...read on.)

My husband gave me a beautiful pair of handmade solid wood sock blockers for Christmas. I loved them so much I encouraged him to immediately make more.

Can't wait to get your own pair? Well you can, with my first ever giveaway!

Want to enter? Just leave a comment on this post and then link to my blog from yours (if you have one). Tell me your best New Year's resolution, or at least one that you haven't already broken.

Also, I know that I have struck up friendships with folks that aren't knitters - so for those of you who would like to participate, but would appreciate something more sewing or craft related let me know that too - don't be shy, I've got few other gifts for those non-knitters out there!

I'll use my own personal random number generators (3 year old twin know-it-alls) to pick the winner at 12noon on Wednesday, January 7th. My apologies, due to the cost of international shipping, the giveaway is only open to folks in the United States and Canada.

In the meantime you can learn more about these sock blockers here.

The socks shown here are the embossed leaves pattern, by Mona Schmidt, which can be found in Interweave Press Favorite Socks: 25 Timeless Designs. The yarn is essential sock yarn (color: lantana) by Knitpicks.

I don't really make resolutions, but one goal of mine for this year is to get out more - I have a tendency to stay at home a little too much, I think. I haven't done anything yet, but my soon-to-be sister-in-law's bachelorette party is on Saturday.

(I don't have a blog to link from, unfortunately.)

Those are beautiful and I would like them even though I don't knit (yet). I'll hang them on my wall!

Perfect! Two of my many resolutions (and I make them with reckless abandon) are to revive my blog and knit more socks! So far this year, I've managed to change my blog template and knit a hat and most of one slipper.

who knew there was such a thing as a sock blocker? since i didn't know they existed i won't use them for their intended purpose, though i could probably think of some fun way to use them...hmmm. maybe i should just say i enjoy your blog and happy new year!

The sock blockers are beautiful! As are the Embossed Leaves socks -- might have to go look up that pattern, lol. My new year's resolution? To live in the moment! Sorry no blog to link to, but I'm bookmarking your blog to read more.

Those are fantastic!

And one of my New Year's resolutions is to make more time for housework. Ugh!

I am just learning to knit (I am a crocheter usually) because I love yarn!!! Just stumbled across your blog and am enjoying reading earlier posts. Love the tote bags and coasters. Think I'll keep those ideas ready for next Christmas. Look forward to more reading of your blog.

PS: Forgot to tell you that my resolution is to learn to knit so much better than I do now!!!

These sock blockers are great and would help fulfill my New Year's resolution: learning to knit socks!

The workmanship on both the blockers AND the socks is gorgeous--you and your husband are quite a team. Somehow plastic blockers don't do justice to our handknit socks--but smoothly turned and finished oak looks just right. Beautiful job.

My resolution is a Yarn Diet for 2009 so I can knit from my burgeoning stash. I did not, however, go on an accessories/knitting book diet...a girl's gotta live.

No blog for me to link to, but I am very happy to have found yours.

I don't do resolutions but I do make goals.

One of my goals this year to participate every month in the Sock Knitters Anonymous "Sock Down" each month this year.

I love these and want to hang them on my wall. My New Year's resolution is to win this giveaway. :-)

Don't know how to link, so I'll follow you instead (in case that's not the same thing). Feel free to link to me, I write about knitting. :-)
